Sacramento Kings sign Keegan Murray to $140M extension, add Russell Westbrook
The Sacramento Kings agreed on a five-year, $140 million contract extension with forward Keegan Murray to keep him locked up through the 2030-31 season. Murray made the NBA All-Rookie team in 2023 and finished fifth in voting for rookie of the year after helping the Kings snap an NBA-record 16-season playoff drought. Murray has made at least 150 3-pointers in all three seasons and is also one of Sacramento's top wing defenders.

Sabres take first lead of the season on a shot that rebounds in off glass
The Buffalo Sabres took their first lead of the season on a shot that missed the net — the first time by, at least. On a first-period power play, Jack Quinn fired a one-timer from the slot that sailed just right and over the net, bounced off the glass and fluttered in off goalie Leevi Merilainen’s back. Tim Stutzle tied it for Ottawa in the period.
