Christian Ramírez helps defending-champion Galaxy earn first point in 1-1 draw with Timbers
Christian Ramírez scored late in the second half and the defending-champion Los Angeles Galaxy earned their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw with the Portland Timbers on Sunday afternoon. Ramírez scored his first goal in his first season with the Galaxy (0-3-1) in the 81st minute. Felipe Mora scored his first goal of the season to give Portland (1-2-1) the lead in the 49th minute.

![](/<p>Wisconsin basketball was selected as a No. 3 seed in the East region in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The finalized bracket, released on Sunday, has the team facing No. 14 Montana in the round of 64 on Thursday.</p><p>Notably, Wisconsin will have to travel far for its first and second-round matchups. The team missed the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, pod site -- No. 3-seed Iowa State received the nearby draw. The Badgers will instead begin in Denver, Colorado. The other pod-site contenders are No. 6-seed BYU, No. 11-seed VCU and No. 14-seed Montana. One of the group will advance to the Sweet Sixteen -- a round Wisconsin hasn't reached since 2017.</p><p>The Badgers enter March Madness after a <a href="https://badgerswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/badgers/mens-basketball/2025/03/16/wisconsin-basketball-michigan-game-reaction/82475632007/">Big Ten Tournament championship game loss to Michigan</a>. The team closed the regular season with just two wins in five games, including a deflating home loss to a bottom-ranked <a href="https://nittanylionswire.usatoday.com/">Penn State</a> team. Its run to the Big Ten Tournament final coincided with the return of veteran guard Max Klesmit from injury. It defeated Northwestern, <a href="https://uclawire.usatoday.com/">UCLA</a> and <a href="https://spartanswire.usatoday.com/">Michigan State</a> en route to the final matchup against the Wolverines.
