Regan Slater told me pre-match that togetherness and getting the basics right were the key factors to Hull City getting something out of a game against free-scoring Chelsea. The Tigers stalwart was spot on and, along with his team-mates, he certainly delivered. Yes defensive mistakes helped get them back into the game, but it was also their work-rate and confidence that put a vulnerable Chelsea back-line under pressure.

Sitting just a few rows behind Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso, it was clear to see that he's still trying to find the answers when it comes to making this free-scoring side into a more solid team. It was difficult not to have sympathy for Jorrel Hato, who had a nightmare first-half with some schoolboy defending to allow Hull City to equalise.
