West Virginia survives final frantic seconds to beat Cincinnati 62-59
Amani Hansberry scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and West Virginia pulled out a 62-59 win over Cincinnati on Wednesday night after nearly blowing a nine-point lead in the final seconds. Trailing by six midway through the second half, the Mountaineers (16-10, 7-8 Big 12) went on a 21-6 run led by seven points from Hansberry to lead 62-53 with 7.9 seconds left. Cincinnati's Dan Skillings Jr. banked in a long 3-pointer then grabbed a tipped inbounds pass and threw in another 3.

Woodward and Colgate take down Navy 79-75
Jeff Woodward scored 23 points, including a pair of free throws that gave Colgate the lead for good with 58 seconds to play, as the Raiders knocked off Navy 79-75 on Wednesday night. Woodward also added 10 rebounds for the Raiders (12-16, 9-6 Patriot League). Jalen Cox added 12 points while finishing 5 of 8 from the floor while they also had seven rebounds.

Maly scores 14 of her 20 points in second half as No. 23 Creighton women rally for 65-62 win
Morgan Maly scored 14 of her 20 points in the second half and No. Creighton rallied in the fourth quarter to edge St. John's 65-62 on Wednesday night. The Red Storm (14-12, 4-11 Big East) led for nearly 30 minutes and were up 51-46 heading into the final quarter before the Bluejays (22-4, 14-1) rallied to win their sixth straight game and clinch a top-two seed in the conference tournament.

Kario Oquendo scores 25 and SMU routs Notre Dame 97-73 for sixth ACC road win
SMU (20-6, 11-4) shot 72% in the first half, making 21 of 30 shots. A 9-0 run and a 10-0 run gave the Mustangs a 25-5 lead halfway through the period and they went on to lead 50-25 at halftime. Oquendo had 15 points without missing a shot, going 6 for 6 from the field with two 3-pointers and making his only free throw.

Otega Oweh scored 20 points and No. 17 Kentucky took advantage of its size to start the second half to pull away for an 82-61 win over Vanderbilt on Wednesday night. The Wildcats (18-8, 7-6 Southeastern Conference) led 41-40 at the half, but focused on going inside for their first three baskets of the second half and forced the Commodores to take a timeout three minutes in. Amari Williams added 17 points for the Wildcats.

Disaster at Penn State: "Everybody's gotta look in the mirror"
Fred Hoiberg thought the pregame shoot-around was maybe the best of the season prior to the tip against Penn State on Wednesday night. "We were flyin' around, we were energetic, we were talking," Hoiberg said on the Huskers Radio Network after the game. Disaster found the Huskers immediately in State College, just like it did Sunday at Northwestern.
